N2.3bn missing from NDDC
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) is an agency of the Federal Government of Nigeria.
The NNPC comprises several subsidiary companies, including National Oil Company (NNPC) Exploration & Production Company Ltd., Nigerian Gas Company Ltd.
In addition to its roles as an operator of oil pipelines and refineries in Nigeria; it also engages in exploration activities through its subsidiaries such as Shell Petroleum Development Company Limited (SPDC).
Why Lagosians are in a panic
Lagosians are in a panic. This is because they are worried about the future, their jobs and businesses. They don’t know if they will have money to spend on food, let alone other things like clothes or entertainment.
There are many reasons why Lagosians are panicking at this time:
- People have lost their jobs due to companies closing down or moving overseas because of the high cost of doing business here (taxes).
- Many people have lost their homes because landlords raised rents so high that some families couldn’t pay anymore so they had no choice but move out without notice!
CPF Board to collect data on pensioners
The Pension Fund Regulatory Authority (PFRDA) has directed the Central Provident Fund (CPF) Board to collect data on pensioners.
According to the directive, all employers and employees should submit their National Identification Number (NIN), date of birth and place of birth for verification purposes by October 31 this year.
N13.7bn fraud traced to MD of Bank PHB Plc
The Managing Director of Bank PHB Plc, Mr. Segun Odukale, has been suspended by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) over alleged fraud amounting to N13.7 billion at the bank.
The apex bank described as “unfortunate” its decision to suspend Mr. Odukale from office pending finalisation of investigation into allegations against him by the Financial Reporting Council (FRC).
FG wants Buhari’s daughter-in-law to be stripped of her Nigerian citizenship
The federal government has urged the National Assembly to pass a law that would strip Buhari’s daughter-in-law of her Nigerian citizenship.
Babatunde Fashola, Minister of Power, Works and Housing, made this known on Thursday at a meeting with journalists in Abuja.
